There is nothing worse than seeing a loved one deteriorate and succumb to an incurable disorder. We are proud at Chaffin Luhana LLP to send a donation to The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA (MGA) on behalf of our Medical Records Manager and Foundation Director, Christina Pottmeyer.
Myasthenia Gravis may not be a well-known chronic neuromuscular disorder to most people, but it is painful and scary for those who have to live with it. The disorder is not deadly, but can affect a variety of muscles and functions including walking, eating, lifting your arms, talking, laughing, smiling, opening your eyes and even breathing.
The Chaffin Luhana Foundation is donating $250 on behalf of Christina to this important cause.
Christina’s great-aunt was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis before eventually dying from it. “She went from a bubbly, energetic, self-sufficient person to a shell of a human being. My family and I knew the symptoms she was experiencing truly terrified her,” Christina said.
She hopes this donation will help MGA and also help to raise awareness about this autoimmune disorder to hopefully one day find a cure.
